How Kranner GmbH is driving digitalization and transparency in the scrap metal trade with SAP Business One
Kranner GmbH, also known as Altmetalle Kranner, is a traditional Austrian company specializing in the trade and recycling of scrap metal. Since its foundation in 1947, the company has developed into an important player in the recycling of scrap metal.
Until the beginning of 2020, the family business was run by Brigitte and Felix Kranner in the third generation, with over 25 employees at three locations. In 2020, the company was sold to the Styrian company GAUGL. Since then, Alexander Gaugl and Peter Heinrich have been responsible for the management.
The core business continues to be the purchase of scrap metal – from small to large quantities – from various suppliers. The scrap metal is carefully sorted manually according to recycling criteria and delivered in large quantities to smelting plants, processing companies and wholesalers.
The Gaugl Group, which includes Gaugl Metallhandel GmbH, has been collecting, sorting and processing non-ferrous metals and ferrous scrap since 1973. Sustainability and resource conservation are core values that characterize the Group’s actions and also play an important role at Altmetalle Kranner.
