As a manufacturer of high-quality wood products for garden and outdoor use, Kiehn-Holz GmbH works with major trading partners and DIY stores throughout Europe. For the company, this means that orders, invoices, deliveries and stocks must be available at all times in a reliable and structured manner.

Kiehn-Holz supplies various retail partners in the DIY store segment, including companies such as Hornbach, toom Baumarkt, Markant, Bahag and OBI. These partners have different requirements and processes. At the same time, expectations of speed, transparency and availability of data are increasing along the entire supply chain.

Before the current solution, EDI was handled by two different service providers. The aim was therefore to bundle the EDI connection in a central solution in order to standardize processes and simplify handling in day-to-day business.

Added value in day-to-day business

In order to manage processes efficiently, Kiehn-Holz relies on an electronic data interchange (EDI) service provider that automates communication with partners. The EDI processes are integrated into the existing system landscape, which is based on SAP Business One, among others. The implementation was carried out in cooperation with the partner Avedium.

The EDI data is transferred directly between the systems via a REST interface using an SAP Business One connector and is therefore available for further processing without delay.
