Founded in 1959, Indupro AG is internationally renowned for its three core areas: Firstly, it sells strapping devices that bundle printed matter, parcels or banknotes – these packaging solutions are mainly exported. Secondly, Indupro offers national lighting systems such as pneumatic masts for fire engines, mobile floodlight masts and lighting trailers for construction sites. The company also sells, rents and assembles scaffolding, lifting equipment and work platforms at six Swiss locations (three own rental warehouses, three agencies).
All business processes run via the ERP system, which forms the backbone of the company. With growing project volumes and more complex products, the previous IT landscape was reaching its limits: Media disruptions, manual data entry and a lack of transparency were causing a great deal of effort and errors. The company was therefore looking for a lean, efficient and scalable solution that was perfectly tailored to the requirements of a medium-sized industrial company.

More efficient processes with SAP Business One: rental and production in one system
Mapping the classic processes of a trading company in an ERP system – such as purchasing and sales, warehouse and logistics, accounting and payroll – is routine. At Indupro, however, the rental processes are also to be integrated into the same application. There are storage locations throughout Switzerland where customers can rent scaffolding unannounced and take it away immediately.
It must therefore be possible at each location to create parts lists and rental contracts, check and document returns and create initial, monthly and final invoices for both rental and installation services.
Several ERP solutions were tested on the basis of this specification. In the end, SAP Business One was the winner.
