This week, our location in Giessen was the meeting point for the DEV DACH workshop: our developers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland came together in our event room to exchange expertise, work together and look ahead to future developments. For three days, the focus was on knowledge transfer, practical content and a real team spirit.
The event kicked off on Tuesday lunchtime with the joint arrival and a relaxed lunch at the food truck. Juicy burgers, crispy fries and other tasty sides ensured a successful start and good discussions in a relaxed atmosphere. At the subsequent kick-off, the objectives for the workshop days were defined before the first technical sessions began. Different technologies, perspectives and experiences led to an intensive exchange and many practical impulses. In the evening, a meal together in the boathouse in Giessen provided the perfect setting to continue discussions and further strengthen the team spirit.
Wednesday was all about AI in everyday development work. Sessions on GitHub Copilot and useful applications of AI showed how modern tools can support daily development work. In a subsequent practical phase, everyone worked on their own AI prompt projects and directly implemented what they had learned. The event concluded with an evening of bowling and an American dinner.
On the last day, the focus was on the sustainable transfer of the workshop content. Together, we reflected on how the approaches developed can be meaningfully integrated into everyday life before the workshop officially ended and the participants set off on their journey home.
The DEV DACH workshop once again showed how valuable personal exchange, joint learning and cross-location collaboration are. We can look back on three intensive and successful days with many new impulses, concrete ideas for everyday working life and a strengthened team spirit.
